Are you looking for cafes with playgrounds for kids in Brisbane?

It’s no secret coffee plays an important role in many parent’s lives. With small children in tow it’s not quite so easy to drop in for a coffee on the run.

One of the best places for a coffee on the run is DiBella drive through coffee 90 Abbortsford Rd Bowen Hills. Yes- drive through. Yes- it’s good.

I think we all know the value of a good park, and how much the kids like going there. A good park, and a good coffee to go, is a parent’s friend. So here’s an ever expanding list of cafes near parks in and around Brisbane.

 

Wellington Point

There’s a great cafe down at Wellington Point called “Point of View”. It’s a restaurant, cafe and a take away kiosk, so you’re likely to find something to suit you. Right near a park too.

Capalaba

Redland’s Indigiscapes Centre is an oasis for kids. A play ground, flying fox, sandpit, maze, and the great outdoors will keep the kids happy, and if you need a coffee and/or a snack, Tea Garden Cafe is there for you.

Bulimba

Park Bench Cafe is right across the road of Bulimba Memorial Park. If you park in the vicinity of 133 Oxford Street Bulimba, you can grab a coffee and head to the park without getting back in the car.

Mount Gravatt

At Mount Gravatt lookout you’ll find Echidna Magic. There’s a little playground out the back and bush walks. If you’re REALLY keen, you could leave the car at the bottom and walk up to the cafe with your kids. At your discretion of course! It’s a long way and steep.

Salisbury

Park your car in Ainsworth Street Salisbury, walk into Apples on Ainsworth where you can grab coffee, cakes and brekkie, then cross the road for a play in the park. It’s a small park with swings, slide, climbing frame and cubby house. The folks at Apples in Ainsworth will even loan you a picnic blanket if you want grab their brekkie and eat it over in the park! You could grab a coffee and a snack and head across the road….

Yeronga

Anesis Cafe at 82 Hyde Road Yeronga is a great spot for food and coffee. Just across the road is parklands with space to kick the footy, paths to ride the bikes and playgrounds for the kids.

Tucked in to the “O” streets of Yeronga is a little park with slides, bouncy seats, and climbing frames. Across the street on the corner of Orontes and Orsova Road is O’spresso where you can grab a coffee and treats.

Tennyson

A brand spanking new playground has opened at the Tennis Centre. Within an easy walk you’ll find a caffeine hit at Buzz Bistro.

Greenslopes

Just across Cleveland Street from the fabulous Lady Marmalade, is bike paths and 2 different playgrounds. Grab a coffee and a something scrummy and take the kids for a play.

Sinnamon Park

At 58 Oldfied Road, Sinnamon Park you find K and K Austrian Coffee House. We have it under good authority you’ll find parkland close by where you can feed the ducks on the lake and enjoy the great outdoors.

Kangaroo Point

If you’re looking for a view of the city you feel as though you could touch, the Cliff’s Cafe is for you. It’s a child friendly spot, but if there aren’t any tables left and you fancy a picnic, wander up the hill to picnic table and space to kick the footy.

50 meters from the wonderful Captain Burke park, under the Story Bridge is Puk Espresso (98 Main Street Kangaroo Point). Grab a coffee from there and then head on down with the kids for a play beside the mighty Brisbane River.

CBD

In the Roma Street Parklands, you’ll find heaps of space to play, a great playground and Melange Cafe at 1 Parkland Boulevard, Roma Street Parklands.

Hamilton

Across the road from the Hamilton Recreation reserve is a little coffee shop right near Samios. The day we were there it closed at lunchtime. Located at Hercules street Hamilton.

Woolloowin

The Coffee Guy is just near Melrose Park at Woolloowin. Grab your coffee at 85 Kent Road Woolloowin and head down the road to the park which is on Rose Street.

Toowong

At the base of Mount Cootha you’ll find Botanical. Just beside the botanical garden where you can wander down and feed the ducks. Botanical is at 152 Mount Coot-Tha Road  Toowong

Bean on Dean at 45 Dean Street Toowong is not far from Anzac Park. Anzac Park is the perfect place to tire out the kids. Massive grounds, heaps of pay equipment and a brilliant flying fox.

Ascot

Oriel Park at Ascot is a cracker. Loads of stuff for the kids to play on, and it’s fenced. Across the road at 199 Lancaster Road you’ll find another cracker- Vanilla Pod Cafe and Deli. If you’re on a diet- go there at your own risk! Vanilla Pod will cater for and deliver to your party in Oriel Park.

Hendra

You’ll find Dandelion and Driftwood at 45 Gerler Road, Hendra. It’s reputation for good coffee is well known, and there’s a convenient coffee cart out the front so you don’t even have to go inside for a brew. A short stroll down Gerler Road is TC. Beirnie Park. A great park.

 

Wavell Heights

Retroespresso is just down the road from Keith Borland Wetlands. Here you can feed the ducks, head on scooters, take the dog to the dog park and the kids can play on the playground. Retroespresso is at 194 Edinburgh Castle Road Wavell Heights.

The Grange

At 79 Evelyn St at The Grange you’ll find the Grange library and Lanham Park. You’ll also be able to grab a coffee at the mobile coffee van- Cruisin’ Cafe (find their Facebook page here.). Lovely!

Redcliffe

For the little pirates, there’s Pirate Park, For your sanity, there’s Sugar Deli just up the road at 97 Landsborough Ave Scarborough.

 

Ipswich

Right in the wonderful Queens Park, you’ll find Queens Park Cafe. Grab a coffee and the take the kids for a run.

Springfield

If you’re looking for a park on steroids, Robelle Domain at Springfield is for you. While the kids go crazy in the amazing playground that includes a water park, you can grab a coffee right beside it at the Robelle Cafe.

Right beside Toscani’s at Orion Springfield (1 Main St Springfield Lake , is a fenced off playground. You can see the kids from your table while you enjoy your morning tea/meal.

Gold Coast

Palm Beach Parklands is a brilliant park at 945 Gold Coast Highway, Palm Beach. Plenty to play on, and wide open spaces. A short stroll across the park you’ll find Dune Cafe and easy access to coffee.
